Cold Weather Protocol

At Columbia Soccer Association, the safety and well-being of our athletes, coaches, and spectators are our top priority. As we follow the guidelines set forth by the Tennessee Secondary School Athletic Association (TSSAA), we have implemented the following weather policy to ensure the safety of everyone involved in our soccer events.

To ensure the safety of our players and prevent cold weather injuries, we have implemented the following protocol:

  • Proper Attire: Players should arrive at training and match play wearing appropriate attire, including warmups, hats, and gloves. We recommend limiting the use of cotton clothing as it retains moisture.

  • Temperature Threshold: If the wind chill temperature falls below 20 degrees Fahrenheit, all outdoor team training sessions will be canceled for all age groups.

  • Wind Chill Advisory or Warning: If the National Weather Service issues a Wind Chill Advisory or Warning, outdoor team training sessions may be limited to a maximum of 60 minutes. The final decision will be made by Club Leadership and communicated accordingly. Match decisions will be made on a day-of basis.
